The small port of Gavrio welcomes passengers to the island of Andros, the northernmost of the Cyclades and one of Greece’s most unspoiled destinations. Though Gavrio itself is a quiet harbour with little more than a few cafés and seaside tavernas, it offers a glimpse of authentic island life. Passengers may wish to remain aboard and enjoy the ship’s calm surroundings, or explore further inland. The island’s main town, also called Andros, lies across the island - a graceful settlement of neoclassical houses, leafy squares, and art galleries. Together they capture the serene, timeless beauty of the Aegean.
