The ultimate glamourous cruise: New sailing takes in Cannes Film Festival, Monaco GP and the Costa Smeralda

New for 2021 is Star Clippers’ seven night, tall ship sailing from Cannes to Rome on board the magnificent flag-ship Royal Clipper, coinciding with both the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix, where Royal Clipper will be one of the most magnificent ships anchored in the Bay of Monaco.

The sailing, which departs on 22nd May 2021, embarks in Cannes on the penultimate day of the world’s most prestigious film event, the Cannes Film Festival. The city will be a hive of Hollywood A-listers, decadent parties and super-yachts, with Royal Clipper turning heads as she sails that evening from Cannes to Monaco.

On Sunday 23rd May the five masted, full-rigged Royal Clipper will spend the day anchored in the Bay of Monaco, from where guests can come and go freely to take in the finals of the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix.

The glamorous sailing continues to the islands of Elba and Corsica, before dropping anchor in Porto Cervo on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, one of the world’s most exclusive and luxurious destinations and the summer home of the jet-set elite.

After seven days’ savouring some of the Mediterranean’s most elite locations and experiencees, the world’s largest full-rigged clipper, Royal Clipper, arrives in the port of Rome from where guests can disembark and spend time taking in the history, culture and dolce vita of one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The new sailing costs from £1785pp, to include breakfast, lunch and dinner on board, a seven night itinerary of daily port calls, port charges and a 10% `early booking discount’ for bookings made by 31st January 2021.

Star Clipper’s three magnificent tall ships offer the exhilaration of sailing beneath billowing sails, never far from the water, in the company of around 200 like-minded guests. Relax on the scrubbed teak deck, beneath billowing sails. Lie in the bowsprit net as the bow slices through the waves. Climb the rigging up to 67’ (over 20 metres) for a magnificent birds eye view of the sun decks and pools, amid the sails and the rigging. Enjoy long, relaxing days at sea, and many more ashore, discovering far off and idyllic islands, beaches, small villages and lush, tropical forests, calling into small ports and harbours inaccessible by larger vessels.

Notes to editors:

Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing, with a new ship currently under construction. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.

High standards of service are provided by an attentive crew and all three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar and are large enough to offer first class accommodation and dining.

The two smaller ships, Star Flyer and Star Clipper, take 170 guests each, with a crew of 70, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106.
