Star Clippers in 2018

Star Clippers three head-turning tall ships will sail the Caribbean, east and west Mediterranean, Thailand and Indonesian waters during 2018.

A new Greek island destination for 2018 is the lesser known Elafonisos, with its dazzling turquoise waters making it one of the best ports for making use of Star Flyer’s complimentary snorkelling equipment. The port call is part of a 9 night sailing, departing from Rome Civitavecchia on 5th July 2018, visiting some of Italy’s most spectacular islands and ports, before arriving in Greece to drop anchor at Pylos on the Peleponnese, Elafonisos, the small island of Hydra, to arrive in Piraeus on 13th July. From £2085pp for a 9 night sailing including all meals on board and port charges.

Star Clippers have added more sailings in 2018 with the opportunity to attend lectures about personal development, health, wellness and cultural themes, and take part in yoga sessions, morning and evening, on the ships’ teak decks. New themes for 2018 include Creative Writing, hosted by Kimi Hemingway, a Venice round-trip, departing September 29th 2018 and presentations by Fashion Stylist Samantha Brown, departing from Phuket on April 28 2018. A 7 night themed cruise costs from £1495pp, including all meals on board and port charges.
A new sailing in the Caribbean from Star Clippers includes an 11 night cruise from Montego Bay, Jamaica to Barbados on board the flagship, Royal Clipper, departing on 4th December and calling into Dominican Republic, St. Barts, Antigua and Iles des Saintes. From £2,575pp including all meals on board and port charges.
A one-off sailing in October 2018, from Athens to Malta, offering the opportunity to call into some of the smaller Greek islands including Hydra and Monemvasia, and the port of Pylos on the Peleponnese, before dropping anchor at Gozo and concluding the cruise in Valetta, Malta From £1620pp including all meals on board and port charges.
In November 2018 Star Flyer offers a second new, one-off sailing, from Malaga to Gran Canaria, calling into Cadiz, Morocco, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Las Palmas. From £1855pp, including all meals on board and port charges, departs 1st November.
For the first time Star Flyer will spend Christmas Day on Norman Island, at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands. The idyllic tranquillity of the island adds to the belief that it inspired the classic book `Treasure Island’. It now is privately owned, uninhabited and offers excellent snorkelling in caves and bays and just a couple of beachside restaurants. Star Flyer departs from St. Maarten on 22nd December for a 7 night sailing around the Caribbean’s `treasure islands’ and costs from £1495, including all meals on board and port charges.
Star Clippers’ sailing voyages are fully crewed and provide an informal and interactive experience, with guests free to help haul ropes and speak to the officers and crew, climb the rigging or spend time on the bridge, wake up for dawn dolphin watching, lay in the bowsprit net, or simply relax on sunbeds on the teak decks.

Notes to editors:
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing vessels, with a new ship currently under construction. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.
High standards of service are provided by an attentive crew and all three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar and are large enough to offer first class accommodation and dining.
The two smaller ships, Star Flyer and Star Clipper, take 170 guests each, with a crew of 70, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106.
