From the Lotus position to pasta, celebrity fashion and fitness, to archaeology… Star Clippers announces ten new themed sailings for 2019.

Star Clippers is offering ten themed itineraries on board its three graceful tall ships in 2019, during sailings in the Mediterranean, South Asia and Caribbean. Included among them are five sailings with yoga practitioners on board, others with a celebrity fitness instructor, famous fashion stylist, Italian chef and published author in Mediterranean history and archeology.

Star Clipper’s yoga sailings have been popular for some years, enabling guests to join informal sessions on deck early morning and at sunset, stretching and meditating beneath thousands of feet of billowing sails, with the sun warming the expansive teak decks. Each practitioner is trained to guide participants of all levels in the benefits of yoga and meditation. Sessions take place in the fresh, open sea air, in a relaxed and friendly environment, enhancing the already relaxed experience of a sailing voyage on board a fully crewed, historically styled tall ship.

Former model and celebrity personal trainer Joel Harper will bring his custom workouts to guests on board Star Flyer’s sailing from St. Maarten on 23rd March 2019. Renowned for his programme of simple exercises that produce immediate results, while not sharing his tips with Star Clipper’s guests his other clients include Olympic medallists, actors and musicians.

Neapolitan chef, Armando Bisceglia, joins Royal Clipper’s round trip sailing from Rome on 7th September 2019. The Italian celebrity chef will be bringing a touch of Italian cuisine on board while the ship drops anchor at Ponza, Palmarola, along the Amalfi coast, in Sicily, the volcanic island of Lipari, and a dramatic sail past the erupting volcano on the island of Stromboli.

Two archaeology-themed cruises, accompanied by historian and author Renata Scheiper, are scheduled for May 2019. Sailing from Athens around the Cyclades islands, the guest’s presentations will enhance the sailing experience by enlightening guests on the history ancient Greece and the archaeology of the Mediterranean.

World renowned professional and celebrity stylist Samantha Brown joins Royal Clipper on 1st June 2019, for a glamorous sailing from Cannes. Her styling credits include over 1000 fashion shows, New York Fashion Week and some of the world’s top media, from Vogue to GQ, Harper’s and Glamour. Informal sessions for interested guests will help them understand styles and fashions appropriate to their lifestyle.

The ten new, themed sailings are part of Star Clipper’s 2019 programme of fully crewed, tall ship sailing voyages in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and South East Asia, on board three of the world’s most magnificent full rigged sailing ships. Each sailing offers an invigorating experience of cruising under sail, dropping anchor in ports and harbours inaccessible to large cruise ships, and enjoying life on board, served by an international smiling crew with informal dining and the partly al fresco Tropical Bar forming the social heart of the ship.

A 7 night Thailand sailing on board Star Clipper during 2019 costs from £1395pp, including all meals, port charges, excluding flights.

Notes to editors:

Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing vessels, with a new ship currently under construction. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.

High standards of service are provided by an attentive crew and all three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar and are large enough to offer first class accommodation and dining.

The two smaller ships, Star Flyer and Star Clipper, take 170 guests each, with a crew of 70, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106.
