The Understated Opulence Of Royal Clipper’s Atrium

6th March 2020

There are many fantastic features on board our stunning flagship, Royal Clipper, but the atrium stands out more than most. This three-storey centrepiece welcomes guests to a memorable holiday, whilst also playing host to delicious dinners in the dining room and lively evenings in the Piano Bar.

So, with so much happening in this part of the ship, here is a closer look at what is a beautiful focal point.

Dining Room

Royal Clipper Dining Room

From intimate tables for two to group-pleasing eight-seaters, the Dining Room can offer different experiences depending on your mood. You won’t be restricted in terms of where you sit, when you eat or even who you dine with, removing any stress around mealtimes and making this enjoyable part of your cruise all the more pleasurable. Your table companions may even include some of the ship’s crew and officers, who love to join guests for dinner from time to time.

Glass Ceiling

Royal Clipper Atrium Ceiling

The beauty of the atrium is largely down to this fantastic feature. The roof is adorned with a glass ceiling that allows natural light to flood all three decks below, especially the tables in the Dining Room. In fact, the glass also serves as the bottom of the main swimming pool and the light is directed down from the Sun Deck courtesy of the ceiling and the ten porthole windows that surround it.

Piano Bar/Lounge

Royal Clipper Pinao Bar and Lounge

Decorated with nautical scenes and adorned with dark wood and polished brass, the Piano Bar and Lounge shares the same design as the Dining Room. There is plenty of space and seating here, meaning it is typically where most guests choose to spend their evenings. Regular piano performances are held throughout the day and a bar ensures you never need to be too long without a drink in your hand.

Staircase

Royal Clipper Staircase

The nautical flourishes throughout the atrium make it a nostalgic place for guests who love to relive the grand old days of sailing. In particular, the sweeping wooden staircase is very striking and the perfect place for some photos. Our guests love to don their smartest eveningwear (though no dress codes are in place) and pose against the rails for a treasured souvenir of their time on board.
