3 Reasons To Take A Yoga Cruise With Star Clippers

19th July 2019

You may or may not know that Star Clippers offers a number of yoga cruises every year, featuring free yoga sessions on deck for all guests. Sailing to breathtaking destinations like the Eastern Mediterranean and the Caribbean, these themed cruises allow you to indulge your passion for yoga and meet other like-minded guests on board. With three of these sailings still to come in 2019, here are three reasons why you might want to come along.

A Relaxing Setting

Yoga On Deck

If you already love yoga, you’ll know that a relaxing environment is key to getting in the right frame of mind and getting the most from the session. That is exactly what our magnificent tall ships can provide.

Imagine yourself on the open deck with the wind in your hair, looking out at the horizon and breathing in the fresh sea air. You’ll immediately feel at ease and at one with this tranquil setting. Yoga classes take place in the early morning, capitalising on these fantastic conditions and setting you up perfectly for a brilliant day of adventures.

Expert Instructors

Yoga Instructor

When you take your place on the traditional teak deck of the ship, your yoga class will be led by an expert instructor who will enhance and enrich the experience. Women like Helen Noviello and Catherine Derrow have been sailing with us for years and will help you relax and feel at home.

Helen has over 40 years’ experience of yoga, leading more than 70 retreats over that time, and is great at including all yoga levels so that beginners can get as much from the class as regulars. Catherine has developed a love for health and fitness over the last 20 years. She is great at encouraging people to push their bodies further and loves to help improve strength as well as flexibility.

Like-minded Travellers

Yoga Class

A Star Clippers cruise is already full of people who love the traditions and nostalgia of sailing, but a themed yoga cruise will bring even more like-minded travellers on board. As well as sharing the deck with others who are passionate about health and wellbeing, you’ll be able to catch up with them throughout the cruise.

You may find yourself sharing stretching techniques over breakfast, trading stories of how you discovered yoga at lunch or simply chatting in general with a cocktail in-hand during the evening.
